Influenster Love Voxbox Review

In the beginning of March, Influenster.com sent me box with different products inside to review...
The basis of the website is to fill out surveys & unlock badges according to your likes and then they pick certain people to send a box to that month.

It's always cool to get stuff in the mail especially when it's Free!

I really loved what I got!!!

First up...
This Razor!  It's amazing!!!  5 blades and moisture bars so NO Shaving cream is needed!!!  And it smells SOOO Good!!!  It left my legs nice and moisturized too!!  I'm a cheap throw away razor girl- but I'd definitely be interested in purchasing more blade replacements!  Hopefully they come that way?

 Next is...

Kiss Nail Art Stickers.... Very cool that a nail product was in the box!!  However, My nails are sooo tiny/narrow these don't work well on me- I have tried them before and I'm not a fan- but I know others are.  I find it's also way quicker for me to Paint my nails!

Next is...

Truvia!  Cool, but I don't really use Sugar... I don't add to my foods or bake too much.  Actually I tried it out when I had hiccups to stop them and it worked just as well as the regular stuff!!  LOL.
(yep- a tiny spoon full of sugar stops my hiccups, only thing that works)

Moving on....

Chocolate!!!  Need I say more.  This did not last long!  Oh and they give you a $1 off coupon for more as well!  ENABLERS

I saved the best for last....
I love tea!  Especially green tea... I was buying Harney & Sons Tropical Green Tea with Pineapple and while it smelled awesome, the taste was that of the same Green Tea (boring)..

This brand however, WOW!  The smell, the taste is true to the descriptions!
I am all out! :( :( :(  The only 2 I have left are the Licorice - I hate licorice!  Definitely don't wanna drink it!
I am going to order these- Blueberry being my fave <3

Haha tis me!!!  Smelling the blueberry!
Well hope you all enjoyed a non nail polish review & check out the site for the chance for some goodies!!

Until next time xox

Girly Girl Challenge, Day 8: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

For my "fun-loving" mani... I came up with a 'Neon Camo' (oxymoron)!

In my last birchbox... I received color club's lava lamp & holy cow it is bright neon orange!!!  I need sunglasses looking at it!!

I couldn't capture it so well in the sun as well as the shade:

I then made random lines/blob patches if you will... with the colors:

China Glaze: In the limelight
China Glaze: Turned up turquoise

Orly: Passion Fruit

Essie: Matte About You

The matte coat definitely helped mute the orange!! and the other colors just pop!!

This was so easy & FUN to do!!  Hope you all give it a try :-)
A special thank you to Lindsay for hosting this challenge- I hope we all participate in another one soon!!!

I have almost 100 fans on FB and almost 60 on my blog... for that, I will be having a giveaway coming up real soon!!!!

Girly- Girl Challenge, Day 7: Sugar, Spice & Everything Nice

Last week of the challenge already!!

Today's mani I bit off of the "caviar nails" look and did my own rendition...

I started out with Ludurana Aurora Boreal

Then I applied another coat and while wet, I sprinkled sprinkles on my nails!!!

"Dude.... Sweet"

And since this is SUGAR, it didn't last long... I ate them!!! hahahaa J/K!!  I washed my hands and it all started to melt... Ewww..  Until then, it all stayed in place very well!!  I pressed them down with my finger and clear coated only the ends...

Also, these sprinkles are way bigger than the caviar look, but it's what I had and I like it even still- I would definitely do this again with something like The Polishaholic used- micro beads!!  Save $25 and only spend $6.99!  We all know we can use those savings to buy more polish!!!!!  Especially custom ones ;-)

Onto other Sweet &/Or Spicy Nails:

Eugenia/ Talon-ted
Amanda/ Nox Nails

Girly Girl Challenge, Day 6: Who Inspires You?

When I think of a true role model, I think of my mom....But, I didn't want to do that... instead, I thought back to my youth and the first thing that came to mind was watching cartoons and how I loved some of the shows!!  In fact the first word I learned in Spanish was Peligro (Danger) and I learned that by watching Sesame Street!!  Okay, moving on... so I'm an 80's girl & I actually used to pretend I was She-ra... so I obviously looked up to her/admired her- right??!  I still like to kick ass & take names!!!!  lol.

...Here are excerpts from thecheers.org
She-Ra: Princess of Power. This girl rocked. She fought evil, tamed wild animals and was He-Man’s twin sister. She was totally cool. Not only could she thwart Hord-Ak’s evil plan, and save Crystal Palace—but she could do so in half a dress and stiletto knee high boots. How cool is that? Girls were now shown that they could kick ass AND look good all at the same time. Everybody wanted to be She-Ra.
What attracted girls to the princess of power was the fact that She-Ra was (when not fighting evil) a sweet semi-timid girl by the name of Adora. Adora in turn was the animated girl next door. Adora symbolized to viewers that there was a princess of power in every girl just dying to break free.
She-Ra showed girls that they could be strong and intelligent.

I just thought it was cool she could "morph" into a kick butt character & fight evil.. I saw this as "powerful".

She-ra & Swift-Wind!

Swift-Wind's head/wings & She-ra's Headdress

I usually draw/plan out on paper beforehand

The pinky shows the symbol on her dress

I need wider nails

Base coat: Milani White
Pink: Claire's Sand Art
Red: Nicole OMB
Blue: Pure Ice French Kiss
NYC Scandalous Blue Glitter (over the blue)
Yellow: Sinful Let's Meet

Girly Girl Challenge Day 5: Gotta Love Chick Flicks

I'm not much of a "chick flick" kind of girl... I love comedies & horror!!  But I remember going to see City of Angels with my BFF (1998) when it came out and it was definitely a tear-jerker!

There is a striking scene early in "City of Angels," where all the angels who live unseen in our midst, gather at the beach to watch the sun rise. The camera moves above them, showing the endless rows of ethereal men and women, all garbed in black. Then the camera moves in on the face of Seth, an angel played by Nicolas Cage, and as the sun rises, he smiles and his entire face lights up. You see, the angels can hear music in sunrises and sunsets, but they cannot feel a human touch.

I'm sorry this post is late - This was done extremely quick as I have been swamped at work!!!  Also broke my middle finger nail :(  This isn't my proudest work!

I used:
ChinaGlaze: Thataway
Revlon: Peach Smoothie
Sinful: Let's Meet
Barielle: Pearly White
Black Nail Art Striper

I just layered on the colors and swirled them around, no fancy technique...

Check out everyone's blogs to see what they've done!

Irish Nubbins

Top of the Morning to Ya!!!

May your blessings out number The Shamrocks that grow, And may trouble avoid you Wherever you go!

I have a lovely custom polish by Jenna of Lacquistry Nail Polish!

It's called "Donald Trump's Iguana" & it's so awesome for St. Patty's Day!!!  TY Jenna for getting it to me in time and for your hard work :)

It is SOOO Gorgeous!!!  I wish it were sunny today to take pics outdoors!!!

This is my first Lacquistry Polish... The formula is a bit thick, as I guess all her polishes tend to be- you can safely use a thinner if you want... on her FB page she has a post about "How To Apply Glitter Polish" which I found very helpful.  I had to scroll down her page to find it again so I'm going to post it here for everyone:

Requested re-post of application method:

Tips on applying "chunky" glitter polishes (such as mine!):
-As with any nail polish application, make sure that the nail is free of lotions and oils. Swipe with either polish remover or rubbing alcohol to remove any lubricants before your base coat...
- Apply your preferred base coat, and if you like a coat or 2 of color.
- If you are not using a base color, apply one coat of (my!) glitter polish, not worrying about getting the larger glitter pieces onto the nail just yet. Let dry for 30 seconds or so.
- When you apply your second coat, load the brush with a large bead of polish on one side. SEE NEXT STEP! AYE AYE!!
- Interestingly enough, if you WIPE all the polish off BOTH SIDES of the brush and then dunk it in QUICKLY, you will get more of the larger glitter pieces on the brush. Wipe one side. Working with the side with the polish bead...
- Instead of swiping base to tip as you normally would- PRESS the brush FLAT onto the nail horizontally, pressing the larger glitter INTO the first coat. -
- I repeat- the larger glitters will now catch over the first coat (seriously!).
- Let second coat set for 30 seconds or so- my polishes set pretty quickly.
- After PRESSING last coat of glitter polish onto nail, reload polish brush as you normally would (dipping and swiping one side)- swipe a final smoothing coat over nail.
-Finish with a nice thick clear polish such as GELOUS ADVANCED NAIL GEL COAT- which can be found at any SALLY'S BEAUTY SUPPLY (loves to my FAVE manager ALISSA BAIN!!) to provide a smoothing agent for the glitter.
- Finish with one of a quick-dry top coat, such as Seche Vite, Poshe, Out The Door, or In A Minute (all sold at Sally's).

And since my camera isn't the greatest close up: Here is a pic off her Etsy website of the bottle!
I will try to get pics outside tomorrow... they should show the chunky gold glitters better!

That's all for now, until next time....

Girly-Girl Challenge, Day 4: Inspired by the Runway

For this challenge, I went with an Orange & Blue Colorblock.
I decided to keep it "block-like" and not stripes...however,
I really should have used the scotch tape method for straight lines since I don't have any nail art brushes.... (You'll see what I mean :( )

This is my inspiration pic - mainly the middle one

Victoria Beckham

 Taken at Sunset:
"Color Combo Crush"

 In the sun:
Love FP formula & this color ALOT!!

In the shade:

The following are both Inside:

Gallery Glam is a deep blue with a slight purple shimmer: hopefully the pics captured that!!  It's one of my faves!!!

So besides it being a bit messy, I think it turned out okay!!  Next time I'll attempt the tape- kind of scared to!!!  Also gotta make sure my nails are completely dry first and I'm not the most patient person!! LOL

AND if you have/are on Facebook- make sure to "like" FingerPaints Nail Color & Enter their latest contest for a chance to win the GUMDROPS & LOLLIPOPS COLLECTION
3 winners will be chosen tomorrow!!

See what's coming up Next...
