The Christmas Crocodile

"The Crocodile"

Today I saw a crocodile,
It sat and stared at me!
I didn't run, I didn't shriek,
In case I was his tea!

No move I saw the snapper make,
His jaws remained tight shut.
Whilst sweat poured down my forehead,
I heard rumbles from his gut!

I've been in worse predicaments,
But only in my head.
Like wrestling with big brown bears,
And monsters from our shed!

But feeling brave I shuffled close,
To see his scary jaws.
The crocodile was not impressed,
And flexed his giant claws!

The beast prepared to eat me up,
He snapped, he snarled, he blew!
But I just stood and tapped the glass,
'Cause this croc is in the zoo!

Recently I bought a set of Bundle Monster plates with the Konad stamper and decided it was time to try it out... while it looked good on paper, it didn't come out so well on my nails!  And forget trying to fill in the parts that didn't fit the first time!!  So as you will probably notice I did some cover up work.. kinda like going over that tattoo you regret!!

I don't have the # plate in front of me but I wanted to do the "Croc" design (obviously)... Especially because I got this really cute squeaky toy for my dog, Jetta!  Well, she can't have it yet!! :) Again, I used colors from the CG Holiday set I won from Holly & Polish.  The base color was CG Champagne Bubbles, stamped with Glittering Garland (probably not the best green to have used).  My "cover" was Wet & Wild: Party of Five which is 5 glitters in a clear base: Red. Green. Silver. Violet. Blue.

(This is Jetta upon receiving her last squeaky!!  Look at her eyes!!!  LOL)

Overall, I think the look still came out okay and is actually kinda pretty!  Sparkle is always nice.. especially for the Holidays!

Actually I think the toy is an Alligator, but Crocodile sounded better!!

That reminds me... WHO remembers this??!!

SPARKY!!!!

Lazy Post But One Nevertheless!

I decided to spruce up the polish I had on and paint over it with Pure Ice "Spitfire" which looks like a pink/beige color with rainbow glitter!!  Picked it up for $1.97 at Walmart!!  Yeah!  Sorry my camera isn't the best and I should take some outside- it's actually sunny today!
Happy Friday!

TIME TO SHINE!!!!!

Sorry all, weather and family and health stuffola has kept me from painting my nails & posting!! Acckkk... I should be back to posting pretty normal now.

I figured I'd start off with something appropriate... Naked nails no more- it's their "Time to Shine" with Sally Hansen's Extreme Wear- Hard as Nails!  I would say it's a taupe Metallic, champagne kind of color.  Very pretty.

Happy Viewing :)

Incoco Stardust

I got these nail strips in my Birchbox a few months ago... These are called stardust.  They have a rainbow checker (snake?) pattern... and they are more colorful on the white backing than my nails... maybe in the sun, I'll be able to see the color pop more.  This actually isn't my first encounter with the brand... last year I picked up the french tips from my Walgreens and it was kind of a tricky process... but this went smoothly.  Perhaps I'll have to revisit the french manicure...  Like always with this sort of thing, or acrylics... My nails are too tiny/narrow so it's hard to find a good match... but with these, I can just pull away the extra sticker from the side of my nails.  I stretched the ends over the tips of my nails and lightly filed so I didn't tear the sticker.  These say they are base, color and top coat in one, but I added the top coat anyway... No base. Easy, breezy... Incoco!!

BLUE Mondays: Barielle; *Falling STAR*

Barielle Falling Star is a very pretty blue with copper flecks/sparkles throughout.  I really love this polish but I don't like the consistency.  It was very thick going on, almost "gloppy"..  It took 2 coats and a top coat of SV to set it off.  I guess I'm definitely going to buy Nail polish thinner now b/c I really do like this... just want to make the process a bit smoother!!
(Click for bigger Pics)

On another note, this came in the mail really quick.  I think I got it the very next day, or day after- it was that quick!! Whoo-hoo!!!

Layla Velvet Groove

My hair dresser is named Layla!!  And not only that, I have this tune running through my head!!
Anyway, this nail polish is a magnetic one (it's right on the cap!). It was a little thick going on but the finished product looks pretty cool.  Have a look!  I'd like to try other brands and patterns to see what I think... I do like the line one though because even without a top coat, it looks like it catches light and has a shine 'line', lol.  Does that sound right?

Pink Wednesday: Leopard Nails

For this mani, I used Milani White, Jesse's Cherry and Sinful Wild Night.

Milani White I've had for awhile and it was very thin, I had to do a few coats...  Whereas Jesse's Cherry was thicker...  I used the end of a toothpick (cause that is all I had ->this girl needs brushes!!<-).  Then I filled in with a lighter glittery pink from Sinful.  I am NOT in love with the smell of it nor the Chunky brush!!!  Seche Vite for the top coat, smeared a bit since I'm not the most patient girl in the world!  All in all, not bad... here I am, Surprise!!  LOL.

Nubar Reclaim

I know that most of the Nail bloggers have seen this polish and have already swatched it.... but I'm just starting out and this was a polish that caught my eye!!!  It's a really pretty green holographic color.  It went on smooth and I used Seche Vite on top.

More to come!  Stay tuned.... better yet *follow*!!  Thanks all :)
