Mardi Gras Nails

Well somewhat Mardi Gras (Feb 21st, 2012) looking, LOL!!

I received Zoya Kendal in January's birchbox so I decided to dress my nails with it.  I cut them all down to nubbins cause I felt like it (my nails grow pretty fast).  Kendal is a very pretty Lavender color then I topped it with Zoya's Sparkle Gloss.  I decided to give stamping a go and used Bundle Monster plate 215, the fan design and stamped over Kendal with OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight... to add to the fan, bead, and sparkle feeling/theme, I added a few hex glitters (using a toothpick) from Nicole by OPI, Rainbow in the S-Kylie.  Then after completely dry, threw Essie's 3 way glaze on top- a base, top and hardener all in one.

Sunday Afternoon Fun

My friend Samantha and her boyfriend came over to watch the Giants/Packers game and after a couple drinks we messed with nail polish!!!  I painted Black Out by Sally Hansen over the fake nails and then layered it with Finger Paints newest Special Effects *Flakie* polish in Asylum.

NEWSPAPER NAILS

For this look I used Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Extreme Wear in Mint Sorbet...

Waited until they were dry then dipped them in Rubbing Alcohol (91%) for 10 secs and placed newspaper clippings on top for 20 secs each.

This is my first attempt... I've read using vodka might be better?  Or a rubbing alcohol about 70%?

I know a lot of you nail bloggers have done this already- any tips to perfect it?
